RAMP is a forward-thinking, active, complex non-profit and we are currently seeking an energetic, knowledgeable individual to serve as our full-time Human Resource Generalist. RAMP's annual budget is approximately $2 million and consists of a variety of funding sources from State and Federal contracts, United Way support, private donors, foundation grants and more. We currently employ 34 staff from four offices, serving the counties of Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson and DeKalb.

Purpose, Parameters, Qualifications, Activities and Performance Indicators

For the position of

Human Resource Generalist

 

  1. PURPOSE OF POSITION: To guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources and Facilities Management for the organization. Primary areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to):  recruiting, payroll, benefits oversight and administration, organizational compliance as it relates to staff, policies and legal obligations, employee orientation, annual trainings, policy development and documentation, employee relations, employee communication, compensation administration, employee safety, welfare and wellness, and oversight of facility upkeep and maintenance.

 

  1. POSITION PARAMETERS: Reports directly to the Executive Director; Full-Time; Full Benefits; Travel and Expenses Reimbursed; Salaried Exempt.

 

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Associates or Bachelors Degree in a field related to the positions job activities, or, equivalent work experience;
  2. One to three years of proven, successful work experience in work similar to the positions job activities, including supervisory experience;
  3. Knowledge of Human Resource laws/practices and employee benefits administration;
  4. Literacy in computer applications including word processing and database management;
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information in a clear concise manner;
  6. Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining organization and meeting deadlines;
  7. Professional manner in dress and when interacting with others both inside and outside the organization;
  8. Reliable transportation and a willingness to work some evening and weekend hours as needed;
  9. Personal experience with a disability is a plus or an intimate knowledge of the Independent Living Philosophy and a strong desire to see it carried out in the community.
