RAMP is a forward-thinking, active, complex non-profit and we are currently seeking an energetic, knowledgeable individual to join RAMP's team to oversee and implement our marketing and special events.

RAMP's annual budget is approximately $2 million and consists of a variety of funding sources from State and Federal contracts, United Way support, private donors, foundation grants, special events, and more. We currently employ 34 staff from four offices, serving the counties of Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson and DeKalb.

RAMP's culture is different from other work cultures. We work in a Results Only Work Environment (ROWE) where it is all about responsibility, accountability and autonomy. We don't manage an employee's schedule, we manage results. An employee is independently responsible to create their schedule to meet the needs of their position and the organization. Purpose, Parameters, Qualifications, Activities and Performance Indicators

for the position of

Development Associate Marketing and Special Events

 

 

  1. PURPOSE OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to develop, coordinate, and execute RAMP's fundraising through special events and implement public relations, marketing, and outreach for the organization.

 

  1. POSITION PARAMETERS: Reports directly to the Development Director; Full-time;

Full Benefits; Salaried; Travel and Expenses Reimbursed.

 

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Associates or Bachelors Degree in a field easily related to the responsibilities of the position;
    2. Knowledge of fundraising best practices and principles;
    3. Experience with various marketing mediums (print, electronic, social media, etc.)
    4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present

Information in a clear, concise manner;

  1. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously and effectively as a team player;
  2. Literacy in word processing and database management;
  3. Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining organization and meeting deadlines;
  4. Professional manner in dress and when interacting with others both inside and outside of the organization;
  5. Goal and task oriented;
  6. Personal experience and/or intimate knowledge of the Independent Living Philosophy;
  7. Reliable transportation.

 

  1. JOB ACTIVITIES AND PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

 

     A1.    Plan and implement RAMP's annual Special Events

  • Coordinate all aspects of RAMP's special events, i.e. runs, luncheon, golf outing, wine tasting, etc.;
  • Identify, recruit and grow potential and new sponsors and participants;
  • Secure key community leaders to serve as volunteer committee members and work effectively with them;
  • Coordinate logistics of all special events including mailings, social media, permits, set up, event implementation, clean up, follow up, etc.;
  • Prepare and update progress reports to track event goals;
  • Effectively communicate with Development Director and County Managers, and all staff, when appropriate, on progress of each event;
  • Work with Marketing Coordinator to write, design, and implement marketing materials for special events;

 

     A2.     Provide outreach through marketing of RAMP's services and special events

  • Promote RAMP's services and special events through community outreach and marketing;
  • Work closely with RAMP's services team to identify outreach needs and create a plan of implementation including all marketing mediums (print, electronic, radio, TV, social media, etc.);
  • Work with RAMP's graphic designer for the design and production of all marketing materials including flyers, brochures, invitations, digital communication, and promotional materials and products;
  • Oversee RAMP's main website and special event websites;
  • Maintain a regular presence by displaying fresh and current news, photos and videos on RAMP's social media sites;

 

A3. Assist Development Director in ensuring the sustainability of RAMP's financial future.

 

  • Assist Development Director in preparing strategy, goals, and objectives of fundraising and development aspects;
  • Execute strategy to help ensure all financial milestones are met and increased annually;
  • Provide written and verbal assistance to the Development Director;

 

 

     A4.     Reports/Paperwork

  • Complete all required internal paperwork (timesheets, expense reports, goals, fundraising reports, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner.
